I would love for everyone to know about our daughter, Lacey, She loved life, always working so hard to succeed in school and soccer! She is the only person that I knew that absolutely loved a great work out, I would get tired just watching her. Lacey amazed me with her detemination. I alway's knew she would make a differance in this world. I was always so proud of her and always will be. She truely loved her family and friends. Her big blue beautiful eyes just smiled at you, her giggle was so contaigous. Oh how I miss my Lacey, I LOVE her so much!! She was just so sweet and kind!! It would bother Lacey if anyone was upset, she was always the peace maker. She wanted everyone to be happy. We would tease Lacey about being so naive at times, but the truth is, she always seemed to see the best in everyone. She has taught me so much. We miss everything about her!! We feel lost without her. I want to believe that she is in a much better, beautiful place, watching over us and guiding us and we will be with her again some day, but that still does not ease the pain. We have had to learn to live without her and we are still learning, it's so hard. It's like a whole new way of breathing!! Our daughter was killed in an automobile accident on April 28, 2007, the night of her Senior Prom. Which was suppose to be one of the most memorable nights of her life. Lacey had just turned 18 years old and there is no doubt that Lacey would of had a bright future ahead. "WHY", I'll will never understand how such a innocent, sweet, kind, loving beautiful girl who had so much to give in this world is now gone. The only thing that makes any kind of sense to me is Lacey was not wearing her seatbelt. If she had been she would still be here today. Lacey always wore a seatbelt in my car, I should of talked to her more about the importance of seatbelts. Oh Lacey, I am so sorry, I should of protected you better. I will feel the guilt for the rest of my life. My wondeful family, friends and I since, have been on a crusade to promote seatbelt usuage and to try and get a law passed in Pennsylvania (HB-163 known as Lacey's Law) enforcing stricter junior driver laws. I know this law will save many lives. I do believe this is Lacey's way of still helping her family, friends and just making a difference in this world, like I know she would of. Car accidents are the LEADING cause of TEEN DEATHS!! Through our daughter's death, I hope many lives will be saved. That is the only thing that can help me make any kind of sense out of our familey's tragedy. PLEASE BUCKLE UP YOUR SEATBELTS for "OUR LACEY".

Stop the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policeman wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my daily rest,
My noon, My midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack away the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the oceans and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

I lost the love of my life, my wife Gail, on November 3 2007.
She was the best friend I ever had. I'm totally lost without her.

The idea for this day came from a woman who realized-too late-when her brother died, that she had never let him adequately know how much he meant to her.

Two years later, she proposed establishing a simple, non-commercial day on which brothers and sisters could make it a point to connect, or reconnect, acknowledging all they share. "Because life is too short," the woman said. "I don't want other people to miss what I missed."

"I joined your site myself to have a place to "leave" my feelings of grief regarding my son, Jeremy Himes, so I personally know how great your site is. Again, congrats on the Site of the Day Award."
